I first bumped into 1More at the 2016 Newport show. They’ve been focussed primarily delivering high-value with low-cost in-ear headphones for a couple of years now. ljokerl was so impressed he put the 1More Triple Driver In-Ear in his 2016 Holiday Gift Guide post.
The’ve also been working on over-ear headphones. I measured their MK801 initial offering and posted in my InnerFidelity Update July 2016 that they had “fairly uncontrolled and accentuated bass, and a noticeable unevenness overall.”
Well, they’ve gone back to the drawing board and come up with something pretty novel…more expensive, but quite interesting. The new 1More Triple Driver Over-Ear headphone ($249) uses a 40mm graphene dynamic driver and a passive radiator for the lower frequency response ranges, and a ceramic tweeter for the highs. Quite an unusual combination.
I liked what I heard at CES enough to ask for a sample for measurements and potential review. One should be arriving relatively soon. Joey Thrasher tries to tell us all about it in the video…nice guy, but I don’t think he has any idea what’s going on inside the headphones.
